Tesla Enlists Asian Partners to Increase 4680 Battery Cell Production

Tesla has recently announced a major partnership with Asian companies to increase production of its 4680 battery cells. This move is part of Tesla’s ambitious plan to increase its production capacity and reduce costs.

The 4680 battery cell is a new type of battery cell that Tesla has developed in-house. It is larger, more powerful, and more efficient than the current battery cells used in Tesla vehicles. The new cells are expected to reduce the cost of producing electric vehicles, as well as increase their range and performance.

To increase production of the 4680 battery cells, Tesla has enlisted the help of several Asian companies. These companies include Panasonic, LG Chem, and CATL. Panasonic is a Japanese electronics company that has been a long-time partner of Tesla and will be responsible for producing the cells in Japan. LG Chem is a South Korean company that specializes in battery production and will be responsible for producing the cells in South Korea. Finally, CATL is a Chinese company that specializes in battery production and will be responsible for producing the cells in China.

Tesla’s partnership with these companies is expected to significantly increase the production of the 4680 battery cells. This will help Tesla meet its goal of producing more electric vehicles at a lower cost. Additionally, the increased production capacity should help Tesla meet its goal of producing 500,000 vehicles per year by 2020.

The increased production of the 4680 battery cells should also help reduce the cost of electric vehicles. This could make electric vehicles more affordable for consumers, which could lead to increased adoption of electric vehicles. This could have a significant impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality.

Overall, Tesla’s partnership with Asian companies to increase production of its 4680 battery cells is a major step forward for the company. It should help Tesla meet its goals of producing more electric vehicles at a lower cost, as well as reduce the cost of electric vehicles for consumers. This could lead to increased adoption of electric vehicles and have a positive impact on the environment.
