Production of CATL M3P Batteries Commences, DOE Forecasts 1000 GWh of Batteries Built in the US by 2023

The Chinese battery manufacturer, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL), has begun production of its latest battery model at its factory in Yibin, Sichuan province.

The CATL M3P battery is a high-performance lithium-ion battery that is designed to power electric vehicles. It has a capacity of 21700mAh and a voltage of 3.65V, making it one of the most powerful batteries on the market. The M3P battery is also highly efficient, with a charging efficiency of up to 98.5%.

The production of CATL M3P batteries is part of a larger effort by the US Department of Energy (DOE) to increase the production of EV batteries in the United States. The DOE has set a goal of producing 1000 GWh of batteries in the US by 2023, which would be enough to power 10 million electric vehicles.
