Hyundai’s IONIQ 6 EV to Feature Safety Enhancements and Charging Partnership, Company Announces

Hyundai has recently announced that their upcoming IONIQ 6 electric vehicle (EV) will feature a range of safety enhancements and a new charging partnership. The IONIQ 6 is set to be released in 2022 and is part of Hyundai’s plan to release 23 new electric models by 2025.

One of the key safety features of the IONIQ 6 is its use of the Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2) system. This system uses cameras and radar to provide advanced driver assistance, including lane keeping and adaptive cruise control. The HDA 2 system also includes a new feature called Lane Following Assist, which can keep the vehicle centered in its lane even on curved roads.

Another safety enhancement in the IONIQ 6 is its use of a new airbag system. The vehicle will feature a total of seven airbags, including a center airbag that deploys from the driver’s seat to prevent front-seat occupants from colliding with each other in the event of a side impact.

In addition to these safety features, Hyundai has also announced a new charging partnership for the IONIQ 6. The company has teamed up with Electrify America, a leading provider of electric vehicle charging stations in the United States. This partnership will give IONIQ 6 owners access to Electrify America’s network of over 600 charging stations across the country.

The IONIQ 6 will also be equipped with Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car system, which allows owners to remotely monitor and control various functions of the vehicle using a smartphone app. This includes features such as remote start, climate control, and charging status.

Overall, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 looks set to be a highly advanced and safe electric vehicle. With its range of safety features and charging partnership with Electrify America, it should be an attractive option for anyone looking to make the switch to electric.
