Ford Commences Construction of Electric Vehicle Battery Training Center in Kentucky

Ford Motor Company has recently announced the commencement of construction of an electric vehicle battery training center in Kentucky. The facility will be located at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville and will serve as a hub for training employees on the production of electric vehicle batteries.

The new training center is part of Ford’s $11.5 billion investment in electric vehicles, which includes the development of new electric models and the expansion of its manufacturing capabilities. The company aims to have 40% of its global vehicle sales to be electric by 2030.

The training center will provide hands-on training for employees on the production of electric vehicle batteries, including the assembly, testing, and maintenance of battery packs. The facility will also feature a virtual reality lab, where employees can simulate the production process and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

The construction of the training center is expected to create around 150 new jobs in the Louisville area. The facility is set to open in early 2022 and will be operated by Ford’s partner, SK Innovation.
