Exploring the Cupra Born Electric Vehicle: A Review from CleanTechnica

The automotive industry is rapidly shifting towards electric vehicles as a more sustainable and environmentally friendly mode of transportation. One of the latest additions to the electric vehicle market is the Cupra Born, a sleek and stylish electric hatchback that promises to deliver both performance and efficiency. CleanTechnica recently had the opportunity to explore the Cupra Born and test drive it to see how it stacks up against other electric vehicles on the market.

The Cupra Born is the first fully electric vehicle from Cupra, a subsidiary of Spanish automaker SEAT. The car is built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, which is also used in other electric vehicles such as the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4. The Cupra Born features a sporty design with sharp lines and a distinctive front grille that sets it apart from other electric hatchbacks on the market.

Under the hood, the Cupra Born is powered by a 77 kWh battery pack that delivers an impressive range of up to 335 miles on a single charge. The car is available in two different powertrain options: a 150 kW (204 hp) rear-wheel drive version and a more powerful 170 kW (231 hp) all-wheel drive version. The Cupra Born can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 7 seconds, making it a fun and zippy car to drive around town.

One of the standout features of the Cupra Born is its fast charging capabilities. The car supports DC fast charging up to 125 kW, allowing drivers to recharge the battery from 0 to 80% in just 30 minutes. This makes it convenient for drivers to top up their battery while on the go, making long road trips more feasible in an electric vehicle.

Inside, the Cupra Born offers a modern and minimalist interior with high-quality materials and advanced technology features. The car comes equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, and a range of driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, with ample legroom for both front and rear passengers.

Overall, the Cupra Born is a promising addition to the electric vehicle market, offering a blend of performance, efficiency, and style. With its impressive range, fast charging capabilities, and advanced technology features, the Cupra Born is sure to appeal to eco-conscious drivers looking for a fun and practical electric car. CleanTechnica’s review of the Cupra Born highlights its strengths and showcases why it is worth considering for those in the market for an electric vehicle.
