EU Takes Steps Towards Enforcing Methane Emission Regulations in the Energy Sector

The European Union (EU) has recently taken significant steps towards enforcing methane emission regulations in the energy sector. Methane, a potent greenhouse gas, is responsible for a significant portion of global warming. By targeting methane emissions, the EU aims to reduce its overall carbon footprint and contribute to global efforts in combating climate change.

Methane is primarily emitted during the production, transport, and distribution of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas. It is estimated that the energy sector accounts for around 30% of global methane emissions.
